Venetian presentation of Dobiesław Gała's art an important message for Europe and the world!
Einstein claimed that imagination is more important than knowledge, because knowledge is limited, while imagination knows no boundaries. The same is true of the work of Dobiesław Gała, the Krakow artist and assistant profesor who conquered the world art market in the discipline of contemporary sculpture in less than five years.
The reliefs he successfully creates are sophisticated hybrids of drawing and sculpture, the realization of artistic ideas about phenomena occurring both in the material external world and in the most personal one, which individually takes place in human consciousness. Both are subject to constant change and destruction. It is on the one hand the effect of conscious human action and on the other - time.
What does the Artist want to communicate to the contemporary viewer? Well, a lot. Both through the subject matter and the unusual form of representation itself. Dobiesław Gała is able to skillfully show these phenomena by giving them the form of a multidimensional, seemingly frozen relief that strikes with a blaze of colors. Each centimeter of the performance constitutes a separate space in which subsequent processes take place.
The works of Dobiesław Gała presented in Venice have a deep ecological message and are a response to the processes taking place in the world and in human consciousness. They warn against the effects of destructive human activity and using a perfectly developed form, the effect of which is a well-thought-out visual composition, they communicate the scale of environmental degradation, which, due to irresponsible human activity, is slowly turning into frozen structures.
Zone 79, Disrupted Fluidity, Poles of Inaccessibility, Structures of Information, Epicentres, Circles of Time and Events, Landing Sites, Rivers of Information, Disappearing Traces of Events, Dark Side of the Moon, Frozen Steel Rivers are the titles of works that will be presented at the exhibition in Venice. They are also artistic interpretations of processes and phenomena, shrouded in mystery and in many cases functioning in the social imagination as a myth.
Despite such a catastrophic vision, Dobiesław Gała introduces an element of hope that results from the enormous power of nature's regeneration, so this process can not only be reversed but also stopped at a certain stage. Hence the intensity of the green blue colour (pigment) and its reinforcement with light, as well as the use of other artistic methods (light illumination of fragments of works), aimed at enhancing the effect of depth in which subsequent structures are revealed.
He achieves this by using the right mix of media. Dobiesław Gała gave his thoughts the costume of a relief, a seemingly frozen sculptural form that comes to life in a different way each time, endlessly building new worlds that each recipient can freely interpret. Only the imagination reaches them.
Exhibitions of Dobiesław Gała's works are spectacular events that have a profound impact on the world of culture and art.

From Dobiesław Gała:
The exhibition I am presenting is a very important event in my creative path and an extraordinary personal experience. I am glad that its place has become Venice, a city of art, culture and a special sensitivity to art.
I prepared for it intensively and carefully. I will present 17 large-format compositions, including 10 premieres, which I created especially for this Venice show. These will be reliefs, a type of contemporary sculpture, which will represent different cycles. I will show new experimental structures of diverse and non-obvious form. I will only reveal that they are filled with various subtleties that can only be seen from a close distance. That is why it was extremely important for me to choose a place that would allow me to create the right “environment” for observing these cosmomodernist compositions. This was the Marta Czok Foundation Gallery, located in the heart of Venice, perfectly designed and equipped with the necessary media.
The Gallery space gave me the opportunity to compose an original show that ideologically complements my exhibition. I will only say that it is a kind of fantastic spectacle thanks to the animations used. This is the result of a collaboration with Jakub Hader, who used modern technologies to bring selected fragments of individual works to life in digital space. In this way, the framed places of individual works were magically dispersed in a surreal abyss.
During the show we will find some of them and we will look closely at “flying” very low above their surface, so I take everyone who wants to experience it in an unusual way on this fantastic journey. In my works, I would like to draw attention to the important topic of ecology and the effects of the inevitable impact of time on phenomena that occur both in nature and in ourselves. Here, I give the viewer the opportunity to interpret, inviting them to a common dialogue.
My exhibition also coincides with the most important event in the field of visual arts, which is the Venice Biennale. At that time, this amazing city on the water becomes a kind of epicenter of art, being a time of extraordinary inspirations and experiences, so I am glad that I will be a part of these events.
I would like to thank everyone involved in this event, especially my wonderful family - my wife Katarzyna , children Stefania and Adaś and parents, the patron of the exhibition Oknoplast, the Małopolska Voivodeship, the media, friends who support my work and are always present during the openings, and the curators: Jacek Ludwig Scarso (Marta Czok Gallery Foundation) and Barbara Woźniak.
The exhibition can be visited from September 1 to October 31, 2024. I cordially invite you!
